8th January 2020IFMA Foundation scholarship program now accepting 2020 applications
HOUSTON, TEXAS, USA – (January 7, 2020) – The IFMA Foundation is accepting applications for its 2020 scholarship program. This program is supported by the IFMA Foundation along with International Facility Management Association (IFMA) chapters, councils and the facility management (FM) community to support aspiring and practicing facility managers to achieve higher education and make a difference in their profession. Since 1991, more than US$1.7 million has been awarded to more than 500 FM professionals. The application and guidelines can be found online at https://foundation.ifma.org/students/scholarships/. The deadline is April 30, 2020.
“The IFMA Foundation is built around supporting the next generation of FM talent,” said IFMA Foundation Chair, Joe Archie. “With new degree programs appearing around the world, our scholarship offerings are more popular than ever and the amazing quality of our student representatives at IFMA World Workplace has become the toast of the conference.”
In addition to the financial award, scholarship recipients will receive complimentary registration to IFMA’s World Workplace Conference and Expo September 30 – October 2, 2020 in Chicago, Illinois, USA where students have the opportunity to network and build relationships with leading FM professionals and interview with IFMA Foundation Global Workforce Initiative Advisors and Partners including Sodexo, ABM, FM:Systems and A&A Maintenance.
Award recipients will also participate in the IgniteFM! Student Challenge where they will be divided into teams and given time to solve a complex facility management challenge. Sponsored and managed by FM:Systems, each team is given an opportunity to present their resolution and then are judged by FM professionals. The winning team receives a financial prize and recognition of the accomplishment. “Becoming the winning recipient of the New York City Chapter of IFMA’s FM Student Scholarship gave me the financial confidence to apply to my graduate school of choice while focusing on my studies to complete my final year at NYC College of Technology. I would encourage any student seeking a facility management career to apply for this experience” said Jelani Barro.
